The International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) Fellowship provides the recipient with a stipend of up to US$ 50,000 to cover living expenses and return travel.

Eligibility Criteria ;

 

Required Language: English
Eligible countries: All global countries.
Research Requirements:
A description of previous work in the field of application
A detailed CV, including a detailed list of publications and impact factors
Endorsement of current program director
Verification of the feasibility of the selected host university
A detailed description of how the research work is to be carried on during the fellowship
A statement of sustainability, for example, confirmation from the current program director that the applicant can return after his fellowship and resume his position.
Basic Requirements:
At least 12 months of research training.
Online application on the ICO website.
Applications will be accepted for research work in the following subspecialties: glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, pediatric ophthalmology, retina, tumors, uveitis, dry eye, and cornea.
A copy of the Ophthalmologist exam that must be successfully passed.
The applicant must be reasonably fluent in the language of the Fellowship Training Center.
Age at the time of application is below 40 years.
The ICO recommends that candidates pass one or more ICO examinations. We consider this in evaluating applications from here on.

How to Apply for International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) Fellowship?

Please follow the steps below to apply for this fellowship:

If you do not already have an ICO account you will need to create an ICO account.
Select Fellowship: After identifying your country, the ICO fellowships you are eligible for will be displayed.

ICO Eligibility Assessment: Your eligibility will be determined after your information has been submitted to the ICO. You will be notified of the decision and asked to complete the application or be told you are ineligible.
Apply to a Host Training Center: If you are eligible, you will select a host and apply. Please note that you can only apply for one host at a time.
Host Application Review: Your application will be reviewed by your chosen host. Upon acceptance, you must confirm the details agreed between you and the host. If your request is rejected, you will need to select another host.
Fellowship Application Submitted: You will be notified that your application is complete and will be reviewed by the appropriate ICO Fellowship Committee.
