Eligibility for Leiden University Excellence Scholarship
In order to qualify for the Leiden University Excellence Scholarship (Lexs), candidates will have to meet all the following requirements:

Countries: Non EU/EEA International Students
In the previous educational education, the student will have achieved the best study results that are relevant for the program for which the student wants to enroll. As an indicator, the student will include the top 10% for the relevant program to be followed abroad.
Students may have achieved the best results of study in their previous education, which is related to the master program for which they are applying. As an indicator, the student is included in the top 10% of his previous study program. Note: Proof of the rating is not required – this information is purely to show the level of competitiveness.
The student will have a non -EU/EEA passport and will not be able to support support under the Dutch System of Study Grants and Loan “Study Financing”. For more information, see: www.duo.nl. This does not apply to Advanced Masters, the application of Lexs for these program is open to all nationalities.
Lexs are not guaranteed when a student changes his degree program during the study program. The petitions will be reviewed in every case and the final decision will be made by the Faculty Selection Committee. If the change is made before the student’s study program is registered, the Lexs scholarship will be canceled and the student will have to re -apply for a scholarship.
Lexs are justified only for the period when the student is registered as a full -time student at Laden University within the timeframe of the study program.
The decision given for the academic year described in the letter cannot be transferred to the next intake within any other academic year or the same academic year. If a student has been given lexs for the September (or February) intake and he decides to postpone his participation in the study program, Lexs will be canceled. The petitions will be reviewed in every case and the final decision will be made by the Faculty Selection Committee.
In addition to the partial scholarship, the student is not allowed to receive any additional scholarship for the same program, where he has to confirm his already written verification. The student should inform Laden University if another complete scholarship such as the Netherlands Fellowship Program, Jane Monet, etc.
For a program lasting for more than a year, the student needs to get at least 60 ECTS in the first year of the study to maintain the right to Lexs for the next academic year
