University of Oslo Gustafsson and Skrondal Visiting Scholarship for International Students 2023-2024

The Center for Educational Measurement (CEMO) at the University of Oslo is currently welcoming international student applicants for the Gustafsson & Skrondal Visiting Scholarship.

The scholarship will cover travel and accommodation expenses related to the stay of the Gustafsson and Skrundle Scholar at CEMO. You will also get free office space, access to appropriate technical equipment and free access to the university library as well as courses provided by CEMO.

University of Oslo Gustafsson and Skrundle Visiting Scholarship | Details

The Visiting Scholar Program annually hosts young researchers from Norway and abroad to engage in collaborative research and to further strengthen the research community at CEMO and the University of Oslo.

All Gustafsson & Skrondal Scholars are expected to embody the principles of sound scientific inquiry and intellectual dynamism of this designation.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Gustafsson and Skrundle Visiting Scholarship, applicants are expected to meet the following requirements:

Applicants must be international students.
Scholars should normally hold a PhD or equivalent.
Applications will be evaluated according to their match with CEMO’s research skills, as well as their research quality and plans to stay at CEMO.
Visiting Scholars are expected to be in residence during their tenure, which should be approximately six months (minimum three, maximum nine months).
Each scholar is expected to give a presentation on their research during their tenure and demonstrate the results of their stay at CEMO.

Application Procedures

How to Apply: Applicants interested in pursuing the Gustafsson & Skrondal Visiting Scholarship must complete the online application form for this program. For more information contact tara.sarin@cemo.uio.no.

Visiting Scholars must submit the following:

CV
A two-page personal statement that includes
A description of the project you wish to work on during your stay.
The expected outcome of your scholarship remains at CEMO.
Name the CEMO team members you plan to work with and how your proposal matches their expertise. Please contact a member of the CEMO team before submitting your application and inquire about opportunities to contribute. Applicants with common interests with more than one CEMO team member will be given preference.
Expected contribution to CEMO
Proposed start and end dates.
Names and contact information for two professional references, one of whom may potentially be a member of the CEMO team.
