The UK Government has announced a new New Scale-up Work Visa on 22 August 2022. This Scale up Work Visa allows UK companies to select international applicants who are interested in working in the UK. In the UK this is called “Visa Sponsorship Jobs”. Companies will select the students and if they receive a job offer letter, they will sponsor visas for the applicants and they can legally work in offices and businesses in the UK. The standard amount of monthly salary or daily wage will be provided in accordance with UK law. The UK this week launched a new drive to attract top talent from around the world to the country.

You will need a sponsor to be eligible for a Scale-up visa. Your UK employer must meet specific eligibility criteria in order to sponsor extension workers.

To qualify for a Scale-up Worker visa, you must:

have a confirmed job offer to work for an approved scale-up business for at least 6 months
have a ‘Certificate of Sponsorship’ from your employer (UK) detailing the role you have been offered in the UK
have a job offer to do a job that is on the list of eligible occupations
have the minimum wage in the new job

Duration of the visa

Unlike other Sponsored visas, the Scale-up visa allows businesses to employ highly skilled individuals who are given 2 years of leave to remain in the UK without requiring further sponsorship or permission after the first 6 months.

You can extend your visa as many times as you want for up to 3 years as long as you still meet the eligibility criteria. After 5 years you may be able to apply for permanent residence in the UK.
